Preparing the Seed Order

This is a fun time of year, if you are into seed catalogs, which we are.  These catalogs are our version of the Sears Big Book from years ago.  There is a smorgasbord to pick from, and it is always tempting to buy more than we can possibly take care of, so we buy what we like. But this year we are trying to decide what our CSA members will like.  And we don't know them that well yet.  So we're a little trepidatious about deciding.

The list of what we normally plant:
arugula
asparagus
basil
beets
broccoli
brussel sprouts
carrots
chives
cilantro
cucumber
tomato
dill
garlic
kale
leaf lettuce mix
mustard
onions
oregano
peppers
potato
pumpkin
purslane
radish
swiss chard
watermellon
zucchini

If this sounds good to you, let us know!  Your suggestions and recommendations are always welcome.  This year, our inaugural year of the CSA, we are offering five shares.  We think we can handle that until we perfect our harvesting and business processes.

Pick-up Your Share Tuesdays 3 P.M. to 7 P.M.
May 25 - October 19
Full Shares begin May 25
Half Shares begin May 25 or June 1, then every-other-week

Choose Your Share Size:

Household Share $550
Weekly delivery for 22 weeks of one 5/9 bushel box* of produce containing the seasonal harvest. It is suitable for a family with 1-2 adults who cook often and use a lot of vegetables. Note: if you would like to split a share with a friend/neighbor, we recommend sharing every-other-week rather than dividing the contents each week.

Half Share $300
Every-other-week for 22 weeks of one 5/9 bushel box* of produce containing the seasonal harvest. The half share is suitable for a family with 1-2 adults who cook at home 4 or 5 times a week, or a who perhaps do not eat vegetables as a main meal. The half share is a nice option for families that also want to go to the farmers' market.

* A 5/9 bushel box is similar in volume to a brown paper grocery bag. The actual dimensions of the box are: 13"x16"x7".

**Important note: Sorry, but we do not rearrange pick up times during the season. If you will be on vacation and cannot pick up your box, you can be sure that most things will store just fine for a week or more. You will need to ask a friend to pick it up for you, being sure to provide them with the phone number of the pick up site host in case of problems that particular Thursday. You could also contact us and ask us not to bring your box. If your box is left at the end of pick up time without any other arrangements, your box may be donated.
